You know the smell of a new car, so fresh and clean, makes you feel taller and proud. All very exciting.

That’s the way I feel about our new/old office.

It smells so fresh and exciting when you walk in, it makes me excited to come to the office again.

It has been a rough few years working in and out of the office with Covid 19 starting the downward spiral, adjusting to the new norm, and then trying to make our old office configuration work in 2024. This office that we called home for 15 years and still loved it, but it didn’t work anymore.

So instead of tossing the baby out with the bath water, we gutted it and started from scratch.

Oh my!

What a difference- the smell, fresh and clean, the excitement of walking into the updated colors and design.

I can say, I don’t mind putting on nylons and business clothes to come into work again. The thought of doing it every day was not appealing, I haven’t had to do it daily since 2020. I only had to put nylons on when I went out to see a client. I could skip it when working at home behind a screen, or when we were not allowed to meet in person for fear of spreading a disease we knew nothing about

Here we are April 2024, we just moved back into the office after being completely out for several months, it is like I have a new lease on life.

I wake up looking forward to getting into the office. I pick out my outfit in my mind the night before. My creative juices are flowing again. How can a new office do that? I must admit I do like change. Although we have lived in the same house for 31 years, I do move things around, a lot. My family has gotten used to it and don’t ask why anymore.

The renovated space provides all that BlueRoots needs, a collaboration space, Podcast room, Zoom room that doubles as a private office space, a 6-person boardroom, a huge 1500 sf workshop/seminar area, a kitchen and lastly what every office and house needs a junk room. We refer to it as “The Sh*t Room” -a full 300 sf of space to put whatever you don’t know what to do with or want anyone to see. A massive junk room/drawer! Love love love it.

We have set up a beverage center in the seminar/workshop space to accommodate our clients. They can choose their own, coffee, tea, water pop, juice, or snacks when they want. No need to sit with an empty cup waiting for a refill. You might say that is laziness, you might be right. However, I hate waiting and would rather help myself. So really it accomplishes two sides of the coin, in my mind. I can get what I want when I want and I don’t have to worry and serve clients and guests.

If you can’t tell, I am as excited about our new space as I am about the work BlueRoots does in trying to keep the family business in the family.

What better place to open up the lines of communication and get the conversations going than in a neutral place, a warm space, that it comfortable yet has the new car smell and excitement.

I look forward to welcoming you and your family to our new digs.

Until next time,

Cheers,

Tammy
